I live out in the country on an island in the Pacific Northwest that is very beautiful and quiet and gives me lots of space to make things. I love to be passionately focused and pottery is one of the most involved processes that I have ever pursued. There is always more to learn and it combines invention of form, painting, drawing and most importantly alchemy. When not making pottery, I am usually cooking or working in the garden. I have aspirations to be an amateur naturalist and love plant identification and hunting for edible wild mushrooms. I am also an avid, if random, reader and I usually listen to books and lectures when I am in the studio.
