Annie Hancock Pottery
I make pottery that is focused on decoration and painting. My primary interest is creating visual rhythm through manipulating line and simple shapes. I enjoy experimenting with compositions and colors; pots gives me many surfaces to play with.
My pottery is made out of low-fire red terracotta clay. I use one of two glazing techniques; I either cover the pot with a white slip, underglaze colors and clear glaze or I use white majolica glaze and overglaze colors. I use both hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques.
